Tax and salary calculators

The Income-tax Act, 2025 took effect on 1 April 2026, replacing the 1961 Act. It renames the 'financial year' as the 'tax year' and renumbers most sections, but the slabs, the ₹12 lakh rebate in the new regime and the main deductions carried over. Every calculator here uses the rules for tax year 2026-27 and names both the old and new section numbers where it matters.

All tax & salary tools

These tools cover the questions salaried people and freelancers actually ask: which regime is cheaper, what lands in the bank each month, how much HRA is exempt, what TDS your employer should deduct, when advance tax is due and how gains on shares and funds are taxed.

A simple order to work in

Start with the income tax calculator to pick a regime. If the old regime wins because of rent, use the HRA calculator and generate your rent receipts. Then check the TDS on salary calculator so your employer deducts the right amount, and the in-hand salary calculator to see your monthly take-home. Freelancers and anyone with big capital gains should also check advance tax, because interest applies if instalments are missed.
