US calculators

vBlogger is built for India first, but some readers in the United States use a couple of our tools, so we keep them accurate. They use US dollars and US conventions: 401(k) employer matching up to a percentage of salary and annual contribution limits, and dollar-cost averaging into an index fund at a fixed amount each month.

All us calculators tools

Several of our other calculators work anywhere because the maths has no country in it: the debt snowball and avalanche planners, debt-to-income, student loan payoff and car affordability tools all accept any currency amount, and they live in the loans section.

If you're in India

Use the SIP calculator instead of dollar-cost averaging (a SIP is the same idea, invested monthly), and the EPF, PPF and NPS calculators instead of a 401(k). They use rupees, Indian tax rules and the compounding conventions of Indian banks and fund houses.
