How to raise your score

  1. Safety first: an emergency fund and health insurance protect everything else. Size yours with the emergency fund calculator.
  2. Cut expensive debt: credit card and personal loan interest outpaces almost any investment. Plan it with the debt avalanche calculator.
  3. Automate saving: start a SIP on salary day, so saving happens before spending. Try the SIP calculator.
  4. Protect your family: if anyone relies on your income, term insurance is inexpensive and essential.

Revisit your score every few months. Moving just one area from red to green usually adds 10–20 points. Want to test your money knowledge too? Take the Money IQ test.

A 30-day plan to raise your score

  1. Week 1: list every EMI and card balance; set up auto-pay for at least the minimums.
  2. Week 2: open a separate savings account or liquid fund for emergencies and set a monthly transfer.
  3. Week 3: check your health cover; if you only have employer insurance, get quotes for a personal policy.
  4. Week 4: start or increase a SIP by at least 5% of your income.

Frequently asked questions

Is Money Score the same as a credit score?

No. A credit score (like CIBIL) measures how you've repaid loans. Money Score looks at overall financial habits and is only for your own guidance.

Is my data saved?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is sent to our servers.

What's a good Money Score?

70 or above means a solid foundation. Below 50, focus on the single area marked as your biggest opportunity.
